Pulled !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! out of my '05 350Z after work today. Lordco didn't know what I meant by "Bank 1", so they ordered in a "left" and "right" so I'll take this on in at lunch tomorrow and grab whichever one is correct... They quoted me $100 to $120 depending on which one I needed, strange...
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Took all of 10 minutes to remove, but the plastic clip holding the wiring harness in was really weird, had to shove a pair of needle nose pliers up inside it!
Gratuitous pic of her on a sunny day last fall:

I had one of these take a crap on me in Canada, in a Quest with the 3.5L. That was a major pain. Glad to know you can change it out fairly easily.

Oh Nissan and their cam sensors! Whoever their supplier was did a lousy job.
Also I think they identify them as "straight" and "angled" connector depending on the bank.
Easy to swap out, but the harness side of the connector like to break, so you have to secure it with a zip tie.

I believe "right" is the correct one. As far as I know, left and right are determined from looking towards the front of the car.

Nissans and Infinitis are notorious for having that sensor fail. I've also had my crank-angle sensor go bad too. That could be next at some point FYI

It's okay, I have a OBD II reader now!
It's a piece of expensive crap that doesn't work with Torque, just a proprietary app though :(

Yup, just lie across the engine bay (there's big plastic covers over all the good bits) and reach over the back of the engine. Very visible, and fairly easily removable. Two minutes to get out one 10mm bolt, and then 10 minutes to figure out how to detach the wiring harness

The '03 350Z had a recall on the sensors... and a few other Nissan models in the 03-05 range too. Not mine though

I read it was a bit harder ro get to in the van. Plus I was borrowing said van from my parents. So I had to limp mode it for 12 hours barely making it to my destination back in the states before having a dealer fix it. ($560). I wanted to fix it, but was told not to. Next time, I'll just do it. You made the right choice.
200k+ miles on that van, and that was the only time it have given anyone trouble.

My Z is at 76k, and this is it's first problem!
(Okay, idler pulley came off on the highway after the dealership I got it at "serviced the belts" and I had to replace a wheel bearing and control arm after hitting a curb, but those don't really count)
